God and Your Stuff

This week Pastor Adam dives into the tension between our faith and our "stuff." It is easy to think of our possessions as things we have earned and own outright, but Jesus challenges us to look deeper at the condition of our hearts. Using the story of the Rich Young Ruler, we learn to navigate the fine line between enjoying God’s blessings and allowing those blessings to become idols that crowd out our devotion to Him.

The message is a powerful reminder that while having things isn't wrong -- God knows what we need before we do - the danger lies in when those things start to have us. We are encouraged to practice "open-handed living," shifting our perspective from that of an owner to that of a steward.
