Jesus Is Greater

Mar 23, 2025

What keeps you up at night? For many of us, it's not excitement—it’s anxiety, fear, and the pressure to hold everything together. In Acts 19, we encounter a riot in the city of Ephesus, where a silversmith named Demetrius panics over the disruption caused by the Gospel. His fear? Losing income, reputation, and control—all anchored in the worship of Artemis, the city’s economic and cultural cornerstone.

This message unpacks the deeper truth: idolatry isn't just about ancient statues—it’s about anything we trust more than Jesus. Whether it's money, status, health, or personal security, these "false saviors" promise peace but always disappoint. When Jesus steps into our lives, He lovingly exposes these idols—not to shame us, but to offer something far better.

Jesus doesn’t come to take from us; He comes to give us something greater.

• He alone heals, saves, and secures our future.

• He offers a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

• He lovingly replaces our fragile foundations with Himself.

When we resist Jesus, it’s often because we’re afraid to let go of something we love. But true peace is found not in clinging to control, but in trusting Jesus as our greatest treasure.

Jesus is not just more powerful and more beautiful—He is the only foundation that lasts.
