The Unwanted King

Luke 19:28–48

Jesus entered Jerusalem to joyful shouts of praise—but not as the conquering king people expected. He came not to overthrow Rome, but to cleanse the temple, confront corruption, and offer peace—even to His enemies. This sermon explores how our expectations of God often clash with the reality of who Jesus is: a King who weeps, who confronts our sin, and who lays down His life to bring us peace with God. The good news of the gospel is that the Savior we rejected is the King we desperately need.

Will you receive the peace Jesus offers—even when it comes in a way you didn’t expect?
