BUILD CITY WALLS

Directions:
Guide the kids to work together or individually to build walls using the giant dominos. You can use the people figures to put inside the walls. Allow them to gently knock down the walls.

Say:
You knocked down your block wall. In today’s Bible story, the people in the Kingdom of Judah were disobeying God, but God kept giving them more chances to obey Him. When the Babylonian army attacked the kingdom, they burned the temple and the palaces and knocked down the walls of the city. The people were taken from their land because of their disobedience. Sin must be punished. The good news is that Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died for us. Jesus came back to life, showing that if we trust in Him, all our sins are forgiven.

LISTENING GAME

Directions:
Play worship music as preschoolers march around the room. Tell preschoolers to stand very still when they hear the music stop. Periodically, stop the music. Before restarting the music, change the directions and tell preschoolers to hold up their hand, touch their nose, or cross their arms when the music stops. Play several rounds, emphasizing how they need to listen and remember what to do when the music stops.

Say:
You all were really good at listening and following directions. In today’s Bible story, we learned that God gave the people many chances to obey Him. Good kings and prophets with messages from God tried to help them, but the people kept disobeying God. The people were taken from their land because of their disobedience. Sin, or disobeying God, has consequences. The good news is that Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died for us. Jesus came back to life, showing that if we trust in Him, all our sins are forgiven.

OBEY

Directions:
Using a pompom as a “stamp” have the kids fill the O of Obey. This will be a little messy, just use the Baby Wipes to wipe the kids hands and tables. (NOTE- do not use the PURELL wipes)

Say:
You put stickers on the letter O. The word obey begins with O. It is always important to listen and obey. In today’s Bible story, we learned that the people of Judah did not want to listen and kept disobeying God. He sent good kings and prophets with messages from God to help them. But the people did not listen. The people were taken from their land because of their disobedience. Sin must be punished. The good news is that Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died for us. Jesus came back to life, showing that if we trust in Him, all our sins are forgiven.

PLAY “GOOD KING SAYS”

Directions:
Lead the kids in a game similar to “Simon Says,” using the phrase “The good king says.” Give prompts such as “the good king says blink your eyes,” “the good king says nod your head,” “the good king says clap four times,” “the good king says give a friend a high-five,” and so forth. Allow preschoolers to take turns being the good king.

Say:
God’s people chose to follow their way instead of God’s way. They did not listen to the prophets or the good kings. They continued to sin. The people were taken from their land because of their disobedience. God sent His Son, the perfect King Jesus, to forgive our sin and help us know how to follow Him.

PLAY GOOD KING, GOOD KING, BAD KING

Directions:
Play a game similar to “Duck, Duck, Goose.” Instead of using the words “duck” and “goose,” use “good king” and “bad king.” While children are seated in a circle, choose one child to be It. Invite him to go around the outside of the circle, gently touching each child on the back while saying “good king.” When he chooses someone to chase him, instead of saying “good king,” guide him to say, “bad king.” Invite the child who is tapped to stand up and chase the other child around the circle. The goal is for the first child to run completely around the circle and return to the seat of the child he chose, all before being tagged. Guide the child who was tapped to become the new leader. Play again as time allows.

Say:
The people of Judah had both good kings and bad kings. The good kings showed them how to follow God. The bad kings led them to continue to disobey God. Even though God gave them warnings, the people continued to sin. The people were taken from their land because of their disobedience. Doing wrong things has consequences. But the good news is that Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins. He then came back to life! If we trust in Him, God forgives all our sins.

WATER THE FLOWERS

Directions:
For Go & Serve Saturday we planted flowers outside the Early Childhood classroom. There are mini watering cans you can use to take the kids outside and water the flowers. This is an ongoing activity for the season. There is a hose outside by the flowers you can use to fill up the cans. (It’s also nice to do this ahead of time if you want.)

11/30 - BONE SENSORY BIN

Directions:
Have the kids find the bones in the sensory bins. As the kids find the bones (or are no longer interested in searching) have them line the bones up on the shapes printout.

Say:
Today we heard a story from the Bible about a time when the prophet, Ezekiel, saw piles of bones come to life. God wanted to send a special message of hope to His people who were living as servants in a different land. God promised His people they would return home.

11/30 - PLAY A MUSIC GAME

Directions:
Invite the kids to move around the room as music plays. When the music stops, encourage boys and girls to lie quietly on the floor. Start the music again and lead the kids to “come to life,” and move around the room again. Continue playing as time and interest allow.

Say:
God gave new life to dry bones when He breathed life into them. God told Ezekiel that His people were like dry bones, living in a different land with no hope. God promised that He would give them new life. God promised His people they would return home. This was a message of hope and love for God’s people. When we disobey God, we are like the dry bones. God made the dry bones alive again, and He gives us new life when we trust in Jesus. God will always be with everyone who believes in Jesus.

11/30 - ARRANGE BONES CRAFT

Directions:
Using the printed craft skeleton and glue sticks. Guide the kids to arrange their bones and put their skeletons back together.

Say:
Look at the way the bones fit together. God is our Creator and made our bodies. In today’s story, God made dry bones join back together to form people. He was able to bring the people back to life again. God gives us new life when we trust in Jesus. God will forever be with everyone who believes in Jesus.

11/30 - BUILD A SKELETON

Directions:
Using the craft stick “bones” have the kids help you Velcro a skeleton body back together. If the velcro is too hard to use the kids can just lay the craft sticks down to create the skeleton.

Say:
Look at the way the bones fit together. God is our Creator and made our bodies. In today’s story, God made dry bones join back together to form people. He was able to bring the people back to life again. God gives us new life when we trust in Jesus. God will forever be with everyone who believes in Jesus.

11/30 – BRING THEM TOGETHER

Directions:
Lay the Q-tips (and happy faces) out for the kids and encourage them to bring them together to create different shapes or people.

Say:
Were the bones together or apart in our Bible story? Yes, they started apart, but God brought them back together! The bones were like God’s people who felt sad and without hope. God gives us new life when we trust in Jesus.
