through the bible '09
A great goal for 2009 is to sin less and know Jesus more. A great way to work toward that goal is to read the Bible!
Please join me as we journey through the entire Bible together this year for the third time as a church. Lets mix it up a little though… the readings for 2009 are organized chronologically! You will be reading the story of God’s redemption in the order in which He unfolded it to humanity. This approach is sure to bring a fresh perspective on Scripture and God’s redeeming acts throughout history.
Don’t forget this schedule is only a tool. You should try to use it every day as an aid to scheduling time with God, but don’t get under a pile of guilt if you miss a day or two, and don’t feel like you have to try to make up missed readings, doing so may only discourage you. If you can make the time to catch up on readings go for it, but if not just pick up with the next section and know that the Lord’s heart is to bless you with His words that day. Remember, this is about a friendship with Jesus—not a religious exercise.
You may ask, “When should I spend personal time with God?” The best answer to that question is another: “What time works best for you?” One person might be best served to get alone with God early in the morning while another might find the best time is at lunch or during an afternoon coffee break. Others love to connect with the Lord in His Word just before bedtime… do what works best for you and feel free to mix it up occasionally. Have fun with it! After all, God is good and His Word is so cool!
I look forward to our year together with God and I pray you will have an awesome time loving and discovering Jesus in the pages Scripture!
Love and Blessings,
Pastor Britt
