South America
Merrill and Teresa traveled to South America in 1976 as missionaries desiring to work among unreached, tribal peoples. In May of 1977, Merrill and Teresa, along with their sonJosh, arrived to meet the tribal group they would be living with and were given a piece of land to get set up.They were required to adjust to a completely new way of life. Their heart was to make every effort to get to know the tribal people, their culture and way of life. They sought to form relationships with the people while their work was to study the people’s language and culture and look for every opportunity to teach Truth. Eventually, many would walk long distances to hear the Bible taught and soon discipleship began, which led to baptisms and the first group of indigenous tribal believers. The very first church had been planted! Merrill and Teresa have continued in this same ministry for nearly thirty years, tirelessly working with the tribal believers to diciple them, and translate the Bible into their native dialect. Their current prayer needs include:

PRAY for the translation work. For the Lord to speadily carry out the process with everyone who is involved. Giving them strength and wisdom so that God might be glorified and the people receive the Bible in their native tongue.
